BastraLekha is a licensed product: you run it on infrastructure you choose, and APIE keeps it and its statutory rules current.

Statutory rule packs
GST rates and statutory formats change on the government's schedule, not ours. They arrive as signed, dated rule packs that your installation downloads, checks and applies locally — none of your data leaves your servers. A rate change needs no new software.
If a pack expires, the system carries on with the last rates it had and shows a permanent banner naming the date they are from, so nobody unknowingly files from stale rates.
The licence
- Issued for your deployment and installed under Settings → Licence, which also shows its status and the rule pack in use.
- Reminders start 90 days before it expires.
- If it lapses, new bills and vouchers pause after 15 days, and the system becomes read-only after 30 — but your records are never deleted, locked away or withheld, and export always works. The full terms are in the data charter.
