BastraLekha ବସ୍ତ୍ରଲେଖା

The books, the stock and the GST of a handloom cooperative, in one place.

BastraLekha runs the counter at every outlet, keeps each saree's stock and cost, posts the accounts as it sells, and prepares the returns — built around how Odisha's weavers' cooperatives actually trade.

Everything a cooperative's accountant is asked for

Not generic retail software with a handloom label. The schemes, returns and records a cooperative answers for are built in.

At the counter

Billing that works offline

Scan a saree's tag or a design code, split the payment across cash, card, UPI and credit, and print a GST invoice or a thermal receipt. The till keeps selling when the line drops.

Stock

Every piece, every branch

Tagged sarees tracked piece by piece, loose goods by count, yarn by weight and lot. Transfers travel on delivery challans; stock takes and expo close-outs are approved by a second person.

Books

Double entry, posted as you sell

Every bill, receipt and return posts its own voucher. Posted books are never edited — a mistake is reversed — and closed periods stay closed.

GST

Returns from the books

GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and the HSN summary, ITC-04 for yarn sent to weavers, and the GST TDS that government buyers deduct — reconciled against their GSTR-7A.

Rebates and the Marketing Incentive

Festival rebates applied at the till and claimed from the government; the NHDP Marketing Incentive worked out from eligible turnover; the weaver roll of member societies.

Job work, labels and markdowns

Yarn issued to weavers and woven pieces received back with the wage booked; Handloom Mark labels accounted for one by one; slow stock marked down by rule, approved first.

Controls an auditor can check

Cooperatives are audited every year. BastraLekha keeps the trail the audit asks for, and makes the risky things need two people.

  • Every change to a record is in the audit trail — who, when, from where, before and after.
  • Invoices, credit notes, challans and vouchers are numbered without gaps, per branch and year.
  • Selling beyond recorded stock, discounts past the cap, stock-take and expo variances, markdowns and excess yarn wastage each need an approval.
  • Roles are separated: the administrator cannot unlock a closed period, and the auditor's role can only read.

Your data stays yours

You own every record. Export it any time, in open formats, without asking us.

  • If a licence lapses, the software pauses new bills — it never deletes, locks or withholds your records.
  • Everything stays readable, printable and exportable in every licence state.
  • Stored in India. Portable to a state data centre if procurement requires it.
